Biography
Laji Sanusi is a self-taught artist and creative born and currently based in London, England.
As a talented and versatile traditional and digital artist, Sanusi approaches art with a variety of techniques and constantly experiments with new styles. His well conceptualised pieces have featured in several magazines including ‘Artists Responding to’ Magazine which can be found in Saachi art gallery.
Sanusi’s art covers a wide range of topics from culture to social issues. His work takes inspiration from artists such as Jean-Michel Basqiuat, Alphonse Mucha, Andy Warhol, Adam Hughes, and Alex Ross, whose works influence his creative vision and aesthetics.
In addition, his art has featured on platforms which include Revolt, Bed Bath & Beyond and Dope Black Art.
In 2023 he won the Sky TV and Now TV prize for best art piece for a TV series with his ‘True Detective – Night Country’ depiction.
Among the many requests for customised work, Laji has been commissioned by Nkechi Carol, Head Producer of the hit television series “All American” and “Found”. He has also created artwork for Nikki St Crowe, Amazon’s bestselling author of Paranormal Romance.
Sanusi’s work has been displayed and exhibited in an array of art galleries such as the The Oxo Tower, The Faww Gallery and The Islington Factory, with his pieces being collected worldwide.
